An iconic character launched four years prior in season six of chapter one. This short trailer was more than enough to raise the sirens announcing the arrival of october and fortnite's much awaited halloween celebrations 2021. Epic games released the v11.10 fortnite update on tuesday which introduced the fortnitemares 2019 event.

Fortnite and Overwatch have Halloween-themed events running this month, and one of the new Fortnite Halloween skins has a striking resemblance to a Reaper skin from the 2016 version of Overwatch Halloween Terror.

​​The new Fortnite skin looks eerily similar to Reaper's 2016 Halloween ​skin, complete with pumpkin for a head and edgy black robe to match. They look slightly different in the approach they were going for, though the concept is very similar.

​Fortnite and ​Overwatch are two of the most popular games in the world, so it's interesting to see a clash like this. There has been no public statement from either company about this resemblance, but it's worth noting this is the second time one of the new Halloween skins in Fortnite looked significantly similar to another Overwatch Halloween Terror skin.

As uncovered last week, a separate Fortnite Halloween skin presented a ​strong similarity to Widowmaker.
