LucasfilmWe could be gearing up for a Lucasfilm focused season for Chapter 3, Season 3 in Fortnite. Or at least a few prominent guest stars.
YouTuber and reliable source Tabor Hill has claimed that Epic is going to be releasing Darth Vader and Indiana Jones skins next season, Season 3, in Fortnite. This joins previous speculation about a Vader skin given that “Vader” text was seen on a screen in Fortnite dev during the Unreal Engine 5 reveal video. Though it appears this will be for next season, not this one.
This is obviously not the first time that Fortnite has done Star Wars collaborations. We already have Kylo Ren, Finn, Rey, Zorii Bliss, Boba Fett, The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, a Sith Trooper and a Storm Trooper from the series. It makes sense that Darth Vader would join Fortnite’s burgeoning licensed IP metaverse at some point, and I would also expect the Ewan McGregor version of Obi-Wan Kenobi to show up as well, given that the Vader skin is likely arriving during when the Obi-Wan show premieres on Disney plus in late May. We already know that Hayden Christensen is returning to play a fully suited Darth Vader during the show.
Indiana Jones
LucasfilmAs for Indiana Jones, they are allegedly still making a fifth movie, but not any time soon. This may just be Fortnite wanting to get another classic film character in their collection. Ark of the Covenant glider, anyone?
Again, I’m not sure if Fortnite could be doing a full Lucasfilm season, or if this is just store stuff. We have seen Fortnite do one fully themed Marvel season in the past, but certainly there are enough Star Wars characters where they could do a full one filling in some of their classic blanks. Most of the skins they have so far are from the new era, not the classic era. I’ve also seen hints from Donald Mustard about Chewbacca and 3PO skins. It’s easy to imagine a potential Star Wars season launching alongside Obi-Wan featuring:
- Darth Vader
- Obi-Wan (young and old)
- Luke Skywalker
- Han Solo
- Princess Leia
- Chewbacca
- C-3PO
That’s a full battle pass right there, but we can keep going. Padme, Darth Maul, Ahsoka, Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, Bo-Katan, Lando Calrissian, Cad Bane, Sabine Wren, Cal Kestis. Hell, get me a Jar Jar Binks skin, I would actually love that. As you can see, there are more than enough Star Wars characters to fill a full season, so I wonder if that’s where we could be heading here, with Indiana Jones as a Lucasfilm guest star.
We’ll see if this comes to pass. I have seen hints about Chewy and 3PO. Obi-Wan and Vader are all but confirmed. Something big is coming, mark my words.
