Fortnite has made deals with all the console manufacturers at this point which have produced exclusive skins for those consoles. Hell, they’ve even done the same with a few phone manufacturers. But they seem to have a closer relationship with Sony and PlayStation than everyone else, which is why we are getting our fifth exclusive PlayStation Plus skin bundle for Epic, which is starting to go live worldwide.

The bundle, which is free if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus, contains the Carbon Commando skin and the Carbon Pack back bling which you can see above. These exclusive skins generally seem to be soldier/commando types, though the one before this (which is still available) was the nerd skin, so there are exceptions.

How do you claim this skin? It won’t be auto-downloaded to your game, you’ll actually have to seek it out.

The fastest way, as I’m not sure if there will be an in-game notification for it on PlayStation, is:

  • Go to Fortnite on your PlayStation homescreen.
  • When hovered over the icon, press down on the d-pad to be taken to more information about the game.
  • Keep pressing down until you reach the “store” icon. On the right, you may find the pack right there listed along with other stuff like silver purchases.
  • If not, hit “view all,” which should take you to the store itself so you can see all the add-ons for the game. The new skin pack should be there if it’s live.

Currently, we are seeing the Carbon Commando skin pack going live in Europe, but it should start rolling out here in North America soon enough, if I had to guess. It’s not exclusive to any one region, so it will definitely be available where you are soon, if it isn’t yet.

These skins are always worth grabbing if A) you don’t like spending money on skins normally as Fortnite rarely offers totally free skins, or B) you’re a collector who wants them all, and since these are exclusive to one platform for a limited amount of time, they tend to be pretty rare. Royale Bomber, for instance, is one of the rarest skins in the game as a PS-exclusive. And with crossplay, that means you can show them off to anyone on any platform, so you’re not limited just to the pool of PlayStation players.

So, head to the store and see if it’s live yet by the time you’re reading this. If my method above doesn’t work, you can try searching for the pack by name, but I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t show up in add-ons.
