As noted above, matchmaking will start closing down at 8:30am BST, so gamers should complete any matches or challenges before this time. The Fortnite team hasn’t shared any big teasers on what is being planned for after this downtime, but they have revealed why it is happening. Fortnite servers are going offline to make way for game update 20.10, which will be available to download after everything has been completed.

New content is expected, but most details will be shared in the upcoming patch notes. Epic Games has confirmed that Lantern Trials are coming soon to the game, and this could be something we find out more about following this week’s patch. These will include special Challenges to unlock for in-game rewards, with Lantern Fest 2022 set to run throughout the remainder of April 2022.
