Emotes are a brief yet great way to express yourself in multiplayer games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and of course, GTA Online. Here’s how you can emote in GTA Online and react to every situation perfectly.

It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that GTA Online offers one of the best multiplayer experiences ever. Even though we are yet to see GTA VI in the stores, Rockstar has actively worked on GTA Online as new features arrive all the time.

Emotes have been a part of GTA Online for a long time but surprisingly, not a lot of players are aware of them. If you belong to this faction, here’s everything you need to know about emotes in GTA Online.

How to dance, clap, shadow box, and perform other emotes in GTA Online

You can emote in GTA Online through the Interaction Menu. PC players can open it by pressing the ‘M’ key, PS4 and PS5 players by holding the touchpad, and Xbox users by holding the view button.

Here’s how you can access emotes through the interaction menu in GTA Online:

  1. Search for ‘Style’ on the Interaction Menu and select it by pressing Enter on PC and X/A on a console.
  2. Go to ‘Action’ and choose the emote that suits you.
  3. Hold down the two thumbsticks on your controller to emote on a console. On PC, hold the Caps lock key. If you double tap the thumbsticks or the caps lock key, the character does an extended version of the selected emote.

You can repeat these steps to change your favorite GTA Online emote at any time. Some of the most popular options are:

  • Call Me
  • Air Drums
  • Stinker
  • The Woogie
  • Shadow Boxing
  • Karate Chop
  • Uncle Disco
  • The Bird

Emotes were initially released for GTA Online but Rockstar Games soon added the feature to GTA V’s Snapmatic selfie mode. Since then, a ton of new emotes have arrived with content updates and fans have been appreciating them.
