How to Complete The Dragon Ball Recovery Quests in Fortnite

With Fortnite x Dragon Ball’s Recovery Quest set, players can finally take a well-deserved break from training and fighting. Where most of the previous Dragon Ball-themed quests introduced to Fortnite during this event challenged players to demonstrate their knowledge and prove their skills, the seven Recovery quest objectives are considerably easier and much less taxing. Together, they lay out an easier path for players looking to max out their Power Levels to grab those last few free event cosmetics and a few skips for their premium Fortnite Battle Passes.

As the name suggests, the Recovery Quest set is designed to help Fortnite players actually relax and enjoy themselves. Players have been awed by the sheer size of Fortnite’s crossover with Dragon Ball, and getting to grips with all of the newly introduced event content is no easy feat. Players can complete dozens of event quests to earn a full mini-Battle Pass’ worth of free cosmetics, explore iconic locations from the Dragon Ball series on custom islands, and even watch episodes of the hit anime series in-game. On top of that, Epic’s collaboration with Toei Animation has also produced several premium Fortnite skins based on Dragon Ball characters for players to purchase with their V-Bucks.

During this event, players have been met with new challenges almost daily since the release of the first Fortnite x Dragon Ball Warmup quest set. As such, any Dragon Ball fans who’ve been grinding to complete quests will undoubtedly be relieved to hear that the Recovery quest objectives are fairly simple, at least for the most part.

Regain 50 Health While Resting In A Tent

Fortnite’s Tents are remarkably versatile structures, and they were introduced at the start of Fortnite Chapter Three. These tents serve a few different functions: players can rest up inside them and stash a limited number of items. By stashing items, players can return to their tent in subsequent matches to pick them up. Tents can appear anywhere as Rare ground loot in Fortnite, although they tend to drop more reliably at relaxation spots such as Loot Landing. Once players have picked one up, they can deploy it on any suitable surface. Players can also claim abandoned tents they come across on the Fortnite island.

For this quest, players need to pitch a tent on the Fortnite island or claim an abandoned tent as their own and then rest inside it to recover health. As such, players actually need to take some damage to complete this objective. Picking fights with other players while unshielded is an excellent way to lose some health. Alternatively, players can make this a little easier for themselves by fighting Fortnite’s NPCs. The latter aren’t nearly as dangerous as human players or even just taking some fall damage.

Take A Dip In The Water At Sunburned Shacks Or Beach Bash

This is the second part of the quest above, and it’s fairly simple. All players need to do is visit Sunburned Shacks or Beach Bash and take a swim. Sunburned Shacks is located on the easternmost edge of the Fortnite island near the Mighty Monument lagoon; players might recognize it as it’s pretty close to where they can encounter Dragon Ball’s Bulma as a Fortnite NPC.

Alternatively, players can also journey to Beach Bash on the western coast, where they’ll come across a small party complete with its own DJ booth and ice cream truck. Both locations don’t see a lot of foot traffic so players can choose either. Once they’ve arrived, all they have to do to complete this quest is to jump in the water.

Get Toasty By A Campfire And Regain 50 Health

Campfires are a common sight on the Fortnite island, and players can find them at most locations, including on the small island in the middle of the Loot Landing lake and along the shorelines of Loot Landing and the Mighty Monument lagoon. When lit, campfires gradually heal nearby players but will go out if not tended to. Players can stoke the fire by knocking down some of Fortnite’s trees for wood to use as fuel.

Players need to have taken some health damage to heal, but this can be done in many ways, similar to the tent quest above. Once injured, players can then light a campfire and stay by it and heal up.

Go Fishing At Leafy Reef, Mighty Monument And Loot Landing

Players will likely have to spend a couple of matches completing this particular fishing trip, as Leafy Reef, Mighty Monument and Loot Landing aren’t close to one another. Players should start fishing at Loot Landing in the middle of the map before heading off to Leafy Reef or Mighty Monument, depending on where the storm circle lands. This allows players to visit two of three fishing spots in one match.

Mighty Monument and Loot Landing are great landing spots in Fortnite, and they tend to be a little busy. However, both areas are also large and feature several fishing spots, which appear as schools of fish. Therefore, players shouldn’t have trouble finding a quiet spot to fish and relax. To complete this quest, players must cast their line and reel in a single fish at each location.

Restore 200 Health By Eating Fish Or Meat During Or After A Versus Battle

To participate in Fortnite’s Versus Battles, players need to interact with special Versus Boards, which pit them against a random opponent. If both players agree to participate, they become visible on each other’s maps, and they can hunt each other down for a duel. Players who’ve completed Fortnite x Dragon Ball’s Sparring Practice quests will already have participated in several Versus Battles over many matches to complete their objectives.

However, this quest doesn’t actually require players to seek out or damage their opponents. Any health recovered from consuming fish or meat while players have a Versus Battle active counts towards this quest. Players should prioritize fish over meat for this quest, as eating fish usually heals more health points than meat, and certain fish even grant advantageous special effects when consumed. Meat heals the player for less and can only be found from hunting and killing wildlife, which is riskier than catching fish.

Use A Fishing Rod To Ride A Loot Shark

This quest can be a little risky as Loot Sharks do plenty of damage and are highly aggressive, even chasing players out of the water and snapping at them on dry land. Therefore, players should brush up on Fortnite’s movement mechanics if their attempts to hitch a ride on a Loot Shark go wrong.

The best spot for completing this quest is the lake at Logjam Lotus in the northern part of Fortnite island. Players should try and land on the other side of the lake from Logjam Lotus to find a small house with a dock and a barrel full of fishing rods. Taking care not to get too close to the water, players can cast their fishing line towards the Loot Shark that calls this lake home. This can be a little tricky as Loot Sharks have a highly erratic movement pattern. Once players manage to latch on, however, they’ll be able to enjoy some water skiing.

Complete 3 Recovery Quests

Completing three quests in each Fortnite x Dragon Ball’s quest sets grants players a Dragon Ball. By this point, players who’ve consistently engaged with the event quests will be well on their way towards collecting all 7 Dragon Ball collectibles and earning the exclusive Shenron glider.

Players don’t need to complete every event quest to grab all of Fortnite x Dragon Ball’s Power Unleashed cosmetics or the glider. However, the Recovery set’s laidback objectives are an excellent way for players to get some Power Level Points while still being able to rest, relax and enjoy everything Fortnite x Dragon Ball has to offer.
