Fortnite Season 10 has gone live, aptly named Out of Time and confirming speculation that the season's focus will be on revisiting past events from the battle royale's previous seasons. Also new is Fortnite's themed Event and Mission challenge system, replacing the familiar Daily and Weekly challenges. The individual challenges within each Event and Mission will be exactly the same, but how challenges unlock and how rewards are given has been changed - hopefully for the better.
One of Fortnite's immediately available challenges for Season 10 Battle Pass buyers is the task, "Destroy stop signs with the Catalyst outfit." This challenge can be found within the Battle Pass Road Trip mission. Completing it will contribute to a reward track that will eventually grant players the Legendary Atmosphere back bling, which is part of Season 10's Drift set.
To help players burn quickly through the Road Trip mission, this is a guide detailing the fastest way to finish the stop sign challenge. Note that there doesn't appear to be a time limitation on this challenge or the Road Rage mission. That implies that players will have the full 10 weeks of Season 10 to complete it, so there's no need to rush.
The only requirement for acquiring this challenge and completing it is to own the Fortnite Season 10 Battle Pass.

While the heart of this new Fortnite challenge is to destroy stop signs, there is one additional condition required to be met. Players have to be wearing one of the new Catalyst skins which have only just been released as part of Season 10. Catalyst is a tilted/twisted version of a past popular skin Fortnite, an altered and improved female version of the Drift skin. Drift is a Season 5 Battle Pass exclusive skin with six unlockable styles. Catalyst is its counterpart, with four stages and three color styles for each stage.
There's no major secret to unlocking the Catalyst skin. The base version of it is available for free alongside the purchase of a Season 10 Battle Pass. After purchasing the Battle Pass, simply visit your Locker and switch to the Catalyst skin. Players will need to be wearing it in order to get credit for destroying stop signs.
Players who have already unlocked multiple stages and styles for Catalyst need not worry. Players will get credit for destroying stop signs no matter which style of the Catalyst skin they are wearing. Epic Games is always accommodating of players wanting to flaunt their cool skins and bling.
Where to Find Stop Signs
The hardest part of this challenge isn't destroying the stop signs, but finding them in the first place. Luckily, they appear to be found in multiple different areas across the Fortnite map. Here's a shortlist of confirmed areas to have stop signs available to be destroyed, though it's very likely that more areas have them around as well:
- Pleasant Park
- Paradise Palms
- Mega Mall
- Salty Springs
The trick to finding stop signs is to look in locations with basic roads, intersections, and crosswalks. Epic has apparently put a surprising amount of thought into where it has placed these stop signs so has to have them seem realistic. With that in mind, Neo Tilted does not appear to have any stop signs. Instead, it has more futuristic types of signs, befitting its theme.
Don't just drop and hope to complete the challenge in one run, though. If your goal is to complete this challenge quickly, there's a specific location and route to follow that's much faster than anything else.
The Pleasant Park Stop Sign Route
One location above all others has more stop signs available and a faster path to completion, and that's Pleasant Park. Where Paradise Palms, Mega Mall, and Salty Springs will each have players running around just to collect less than half of a dozen, Pleasant Park is packed with a health 13 different stop signs. There's also a simple route to follow to ensure players aren't running in circles.
Start by dropping in at the southwest side of the park and the first stop sign will be at the crosswalk. Continue north to the first intersection and a second and third stop sign will be here at yet another crosswalk. From here you can turn both left or right, west or east. Go left/west and follow the road up north. There will be four more stop signs along this short road, bringing the total to 7.
For players comfortable doing multiple runs to complete the challenge, this road is the perfect drop spot. Drop, destroy a few stop signs, and then dive into the nearby houses for loot and play on.
Continuing the route, return back to the earlier intersection at the northwest corner of the park and now go right/east. From here, the route becomes much simpler, but the stop signs are a bit more sparse. This road loops around the entirety of Pleasant Park in one big path. Simply follow the road around and destroy stop signs as you see them. There are three in the northeast corner of Pleasant Park and three in the southeast, so there are more than enough to complete the goal of destroying 10 stop signs.
Destroying stop signs is just one of 7 challenges within the Road Trip mission that are required to complete in order to unlock Catalyst's Atmosphere Back Bling. The two others immediately available include doing damage to players while using the new two-person mech B.R.U.T.E. suits, as well as visiting a Durr Burger Head, Dinosaur, and Stone Head Statue with a painted Drift picture on them.
Fortnite's Season 10 has officially started and there's already so much to do. This guide hopefully empowers players to quickly complete the stop sign challenge and move on to their next priority and reward.
Fortnite is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
