According to some new leaks, Spider-Man's arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin, is coming to Fortnite with his signature purple hood and glider.
According to a new leak, Spider-Man's arch-nemesis, Green Goblin, will be joining Fortnite in his classic comic-accurate costume. The Green Goblin is one of the most notorious comic-book villains of all time due to the constant trauma he causes for Spider-Man. Although his emotional damage will likely be kept to a minimum in Fortnite, the evil villain makes for a fun and compelling character to play as in the battle royale.
Last month, Epic Games added Tom Holland's Spider-Man into Fortnite via a cosmetic bundle. The bundle was released to not only celebrate Fortnite's third chapter, but also the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Ironically enough, Green Goblin was heavily featured as the main antagonist in the film. Willem Dafoe reprised his role as the menacing villain over 20 years after his initial debut in the first Spider-Man film. With that said, Dafoe will not be returning for a Fortnite cameo.
According to a leak from ShiinaBR, Fortnite will be adding the comic-accurate Green Goblin. GMatrixGames also posted some of the items that will be added alongside the villain, such as the iconic glider and a pumpkin bomb back bling. It has been rumored for a while that Green Goblin would come to Fortnite, but many were unsure if it would be Willem Dafoe's version of the character. Dafoe's version takes more liberties with the costume, choosing to do away with the purple hood and creepy green emotive face.
Whether or not Epic will add another skin that's more reminiscent of the movie version remains to be seen, but it looks like this one will be based on the comics. Whether or not Epic is planning any kind of special event to welcome the Goblin remains to be seen, but it's not hard to imagine things like pumpkin bombs being added into the game. The newest season of Fortnite features Spider-Man and his universe quite prominently, so this would only further that integration.
As of right now, Epic has yet to announce the Green Goblin, but the fact that images showcasing the skin are starting to leak out indicates his arrival is imminent. Given Fortnite is already chock-full of Marvel and DC characters, Green Goblin will fit right in and likely find crafty ways to make his enemies suffer. It's unclear if any other Spider-Man characters will appear in the game as other villains like Venom and Carnage already made their debut in October.
