Stray is a wonderful game that is very easy to fall in love with. I mean, I’m not at all a cat person and I almost cried within the first five minutes of the game. The developers were going for a weird, kooky thing, and they completely nailed it.
We wholeheartedly agree, Stray is a game that is difficult not to fall in love with. But that doesn't mean we can't poke fun and make it ridiculous. And that's exactly what these 5 incredible mods do. These are really going to make your second and third playthroughs a lot more enjoyable.

5. Play as a dog
This first one needs no explanation. If you hate cats but love dogs, then this is the game for you. Stray can be enjoyed just as easily with a dog, although hearing a puppy meow is disconcerting...

4. Replace meowing with Family Guy's version of Memories
Hilarity is guaranteed with this fantastic mod. Obviously you have to be a Family Guy fan to get the reference, but even if you don't, there's something so absurdly humorous about a cat sounding like Peter Griffin.

3. Play as Garfield
You know exactly what you're getting with this mod. I actually used it part-way through my first playthrough, and it didn't detract from the emotional, sincere moments. Unfortunately, you won't find as much lasagna in Stray as you might have hoped for.

2. Replace meowing with "Jason!"
Please, please watch the video beneath to get an idea of how well done this was. This had everyone in the office cracking up, it's right up there with Skyrim's Thomas the Tank Engine mod.

1. Play as CJ from San Andreas
And last but not least: the mod that turns the cat from the Stray into CJ. This is an iconic GTA character, and we're sorry to see him ridiculed like this, but what an amazing idea. We're still waiting for a mod that replaces your meow with CJs voice lines, but we're quite certain it's on the way...
