Players can change their Pokemon’s nature in Scarlet and Violet by using a Nature Mint. Players will first need to purchase a Nature Mint and then access it through their inventory.
Changing a Pokemon’s nature is incredibly simple, albeit costly, but it will vastly improve their stats if you opt for the right Nature Mint.
What Does Nature Do in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?
Natures affect a Pokemon’s stats in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Each nature will increase one stat, such as Special Attack, while decreasing another.
Every Pokemon starts off with a random nature, but it can be altered via a Nature Mint.
If your Pokemon doesn’t use Special Attack-focused moves, then a nature that increases Sp. Attack won’t be helpful, so choose your preferred nature based on your Pokemon’s playstyle.
How to Check Your Pokemon’s Nature in Scarlet & Violet
To check your Pokemon’s nature, you need to head to the Memories tab in that specific Pokemon’s summary menu.

How to Get Nature Mints in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
You can purchase Nature Mints from any of the five Chansey Supply Shops across Paldea for 20,000 Poke Dollars each.
The Chansey Supply Shops can be found in Mesagoza, Levincia, Cascarrafa, and Montenevera. However, you’ll need to have earned 6 Gym badges before you can buy a Nature Mint.
Once you’ve purchased a Nature Mint from the store, you’ll need to follow these instructions to use it:
- Open the menu with X.
- Select Bag.
- Scroll to the Other Items tab by pressing right on the D-Pad four times.
- Find the Nature Mint you wish to use and select it with A.
- Choose Use this item and then select which Pokemon you wish to give it to.
- You’ll be asked if you’re sure, so just click Yes.

Nature Mints can be given to Pokemon in your party in Scarlet and Violet to alter their nature and two of their stats.
As natures are randomly assigned to Pokemon, the ability to change those natures with a Nature Mint allows players to fine-tune their Pokemon’s stats.

There are 25 different natures in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which can greatly affect your Pokemon’s overall stats.
Each one affects two of the following stats: Sp. Attack, Sp. Defense, Attack, Defense, and Speed. If you know what your Pokemon would benefit from the most, then give it the corresponding Nature Mint.
