Fortnite Anime Skins: Are Anime Crossover Skins Coming to Fortnite?

fortnite hunter skin

A lot of games today sell skins and cosmetics to give players the opportunity to customize things. However, few do so in the same way as Fortnite.

Fortnite has a huge roster of skins available to players. In recent seasons, they’ve began to do more and more crossovers. They’ve pulled in designs from TV movies, series, real-life, basically everywhere to get some of the most exciting Fortnite crossover skins. One area where they’ve largely not entered to date though is anime.

Fortnite anime skins have been rumored to be in the works for the past several months. A recent leak suggested Epic were working alongside an anime distributor, and a survey has given another reason to think some popular anime crossovers might be on their way.

There’s a number of different options epic have provided in order to create your own fortnite superhero. Fortnite Anime Skins Leaks

In recent weeks, there have been a few leaks regarding Epic’s upcoming plans for skins. Often, skins are mentioned or leaked then sit around as Fortnite leaked skins for ages. It isn’t always a guarantee that the skins will actually come out. However, in the last month we’ve two separate bits of information that point towards Fortnite anime skins coming soon:

Shueisha and Fortnite Anime Skins Leaks

A trusted Fortnite leaker recently revealed that a source had spoken about Epic partnering with Shueisha. They are a Japanese company that manages the licenses for a number of popular anime franchises. These are some of the properties they control:

  • Naruto
  • Demon Slayer
  • Dragon Ball Z
  • Bleach
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
  • My Hero Academia
  • One Piece
  • Fist of the North Star

Shueisha’s role with Shonen Jump puts them in charge of a lot of the most popular anime internationally. If this rumor of a partnership is true, then it would mean Epic had all of these franchises to pick between for future crossover skins.

Fortnite Skins Survey Leak

While the Shueisha partnership is just one rumor, there is a little more to back it up. From time to time Epic conducts customer surveys to get a feel for what fans want out of the game. This is often in regards to the game’s balance. However, opinion polling is used to assess which skins will be the biggest draws for future battle passes. A recent survey listed a whole lot of options for possible upcoming skins. This is what was sent out:

Yesterday, Epic sent me a survey in my emails asking for my opinion on many characters/people/franchises.

I'll just post some of the most interesting ones here! 👀

Remember that Guggimon (Season 7 BP) was also in one of these surveys before he came into the game! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/4il4WJJMiL

A lot of these seem to work within the partnership that was recently rumored for Fortnite anime skins. Although, the list is big enough that this is likely a very early-stage idea. It can take some time for skins to get beyond the concept stage, so it might be a while until we get solid news of Fortnite anime skins.

Will There be Fortnite Anime Skins?

Fortnite anime skins might seem like a bit of a leap, but Epic has dabbled in differently stylized skins in the past. Their borderlands crossover came with semi-cell-shaded skins. They currently have a Rick and Morty skin in the game for the current Battle Pass. In a recent season, they even had an anime-styled original skin. So we can largely say that the different look of anime skins won’t be a problem.

One important thing to keep in mind though is that a rumored or leaked skin doesn’t always materialize. When we get a look at internal files, we often find evidence that Epic created whole skins for tie-ins that never materialized. Like the Metroid Hunter skin that failed to show up during the Hunters Season. Just because these skins are rumored, it is not guaranteed that they will see release. Keep up to date with Fortnite news to make sure you don’t miss any crossover skins.
