Fortnite’s Wanda Maximoff skin is already a huge hit with players, with many expressing their admiration for the chaos magic-wielding superhero.
A Wanda Maximoff skin dropped in Fortnite just in time for Doctor Strange 2, and fans are already in love with the chaos magic-wielding superhero. Fortnite has kept up with its Marvel collaborations as of late, with consistent content updates and cosmetic skins matching major movie releases. Just before Spider-Man: No Way Home released in late 2021, Fortnite added MJ and Spider-Man skins inspired by the film. Most recently, Fortnite added a Moon Knight skin in honor of the Disney Plus series.
Fortnite added the Wanda Maximoff skin on May 5, coinciding with the worldwide release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The skin is available in the Item Shop, purchasable either by itself or in a bundle that includes several other items. The bundle titled the Scarlet Witch Bundle offers the Wanda Maximoff skin, the Chaos Hand Axe pickaxe, the Psychic Energy Manipulation emote, and Wanda’s Cloak back bling. The bundle also includes the Mirror Dimension loading screen that is not purchasable separately. With Wanda Maximoff in Fortnite, Epic’s battle royale now has the two big Multiverse of Madness co-stars. Though some fans were excited when the Dr. Strange skin landed in Fortnite back in March, many have mentioned that they are sick of the consistent Marvel skins, especially when Epic makes the skins Tier 100 rewards three times in a row. That doesn’t seem to be the case with Scarlet Witch.
Fortnite’s Wanda Maximoff skin is already a hit, with players taking to Twitter to express their admiration for the Marvel-themed cosmetics. “I have never played Fortnite before, but anything for the #ScarletWitch,” Twitter user alias posted to the platform. Others have jumped on the bandwagon, too, with Twitter user dazzlingjedi pointing out how great it is to see “Scarlet Witch (Wanda) using Fortnite emotes.” ahsokas_tano simply posted their Fortnite photography session, including four photos of Wanda Maximoff posing for the camera.
Unfortunately, Fortnite’s Wanda Maximoff skin leaked two days ahead of its official confirmation, with tweets showcasing the Scarlet Witch cosmetic in Creative Mode. The leak hasn't seemed to dampen love for the Wanda skin though. A big reason behind the new skin's popularity is Wanda Maximoff being a beloved Marvel character who has been developed over the course of several Marvel properties. Having first appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Scarlet Witch has received a fair amount of screen time, especially when she received her very own Disney Plus series. WandaVision was a huge success and propelled the character’s fame sky-high.
Now that Wanda Maximoff is running around Fortnite, it’s likely only a matter of time before her Synthezoid love arrives in the battle royale. It’s totally possible, too, especially after a Fortnite voice line hinted that Vision’s skin is inbound. Epic seems to show no sign of slowing down with its Marvel cosmetics and skins, and if Wanda's popularity is anything to go by, there seems to be no sense in ending the partnership anytime soon.
