Fortnite: How to Ignite Players (The Easy Way) | Screen Rant

An easy way to ignite another player in Fortnite is by using Firefly Jars. To acquire these flame-grenade jars, players must collect wild Fireflies.

Fortnite offers an endless amount of challenges and quests to complete, and one possible objective that players might be tasked with is igniting an enemy player. In the past, players could set other players on fire using the Dragon's Breath Shotgun or Sniper, the Exotic variants of standard weapons purchasable from Blaze. However, in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, players will need to utilize flammable ammunition from the natural environment — Fireflies.

Added to the game in June 2020, the Fireflies are a gatherable resource out in the wild. Players can approach the creatures and hold the interact button to collect them into a Firefly Jar. The Firefly Jar can then be used as a throwable explosive to set players and nearby flammable objects on fire, such as wooden structures. Previously in Chapter 2, players could find Fireflies in abundance in the Weeping Woods and at the Scenic Spot Landmark north of Corny Complex. However, due to the changes and updates in Fortnite Chapter 3, players will need to search different locations.

An easy way to ignite players in Fortnite is by doing the Team Rumble game mode, which can be found within the "By Epic" category. While playing in this more casual battle royale, head to the snowy forested area southwest of Corny Crossroads. Here, players can find plenty of Fireflies to catch for Firefly Jar flame grenades. Collect as many as needed and begin tossing them at players to ignite them or at their structures to burn them down gradually.

Strategies for Igniting Opponents in Fortnite

Unless an enemy player is standing completely still or moving in a single direction, tossing Firefly Jars at them may be somewhat challenging in Fortnite. Even if the player manages to hurl an accurate throw, their opponent may jump/dodge out of the way or build walls for protection. Players should equip their Firefly Jar and prepare to attack while hidden behind a tree or within a bush to counter such reactions. Remember to choose a spot where the player's current skin or outfit blends well with the environment.

Once an oblivious opponent approaches, players will have the perfect opportunity to pitch a Firefly Jar at their foe, igniting them and dealing damage in the process. Once the enemy player is on fire, continue tossing the remaining jars at them to disorient them or use an equipped primary or secondary weapon in Fortnite to finish them off.
